We are a quaint community studio, offering intimate class sizes, allowing us to provide you with more individualized attention. Our compassionate teachers are here to guide you in your yoga practice in a way that is safe and beneficial. We invite you to join us, just as you are, in this exploration we call yoga!
I came to Bonny, owner and teacher at Yoga NW, three months ago, feeling physically and emotionally lower than I ever had. After two hip surgeries I had stopped doing yoga, and then a bike accident early in the summer left me with a broken, then frozen, shoulder. I was feeling weak, tired, and deflated. She asked me to set some goals for our practice; they were to find a renewed sense of strength and well-being. After three months of practicing with her in private sessions my shoulder has regained its full range of motion and I am feeling stronger and happier than I have in years. She has created a yoga practice that is perfect for me…challenging, invigorating, energizing and fun. Each class is different. I grow stronger with every session. In addition, Bonny herself is a charming and adorable human being—kind, compassionate, wise, funny, with a wonderfully intuitive sense of the body and a deep understanding of yoga. I'm so grateful to her, and think anyone with physical challenges (or without!) would benefit from working with her.
After ten years resisting advice from physical therapists and an orthopedic specialist, I finally overcame my stubbornness and gave yoga a chance. Now I regret having waited ten years. Looking for a convenient location that offered a variety of classes at different times Yoga NW was the perfect place for me: convenient (free) parking, small classes with excellent teachers who provide optional poses and personally monitor my progress, and very friendly, supportive classmates. My knees, back, and I say thank you. I am now looking forward to someday being the first NBA rookie collecting Social Security.
After 9 years away from the mat due to chronic pelvic pain, I finally found a safe place to return to my practice and rediscover the joy of yoga! The focus on accessibility at Yoga NW has allowed me to get back to a weekly class, build strength and balance without aggravating my conditions, and incorporate a mindfulness perspective into my healing. Everyone I have met here embodies the mission of inclusivity and welcoming. Yoga NW is a special place!
What brought me to Yoga NW? One of the main reasons was that I wanted to take time out for myself to slow down. I was also very interested in improving my strength and flexibility. I’m happy to say that over the last 5 years I’ve made huge progress in both areas. Some of the many reasons I love Yoga NW are that it’s accessible to everyone no matter their abilities, they welcome everyone, and I always feel safe and welcome. I love being a part of the Yoga NW family. Incorporating yoga into my life has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made and I look forward to continuing my practice at Yoga NW.
I started coming to yoga to help reduce stress and anxiety and increase flexibility. Over the past year of taking class at Yoga NW, my flexibility has improved and I always feel more relaxed after class. Inclusivity is another important aspect of this community that keeps me coming back. Yoga NW is affordable, accessible, and I feel completely safe here.
