Yoga for Bone Strength and Health - Series II

You are welcome to do Series II even if you have not done Series I. 

This is a four week series that meets on Sundays from 5:30-6:45pm Feb 2 - 23rd, 2020

In this 4-week program attributed to Dr. Loren Fishman you will:
● experience and practice yoga poses that build new bone
● learn about the physiology of osteoporosis, effects of medications and what movements
to avoid,
● improve your balance and coordination to reduce fracture risk
Handouts and education sessions are part of this workshop series II.

Instructor Diane Thompson (E-RYT 200) is living proof of the effects of yoga on increasing her
bone strength, bone quality and her balance. She is a registered yoga teacher for the Dr Fishman
Method, Yoga for Osteoporosis and owner of ‘Yoga Just as You Are’ Foundational yoga for
those of you in your middle and senior years.
Diagnosed with osteoporosis in her spine and osteopenia in her hips, she has after 2 years of
committed yoga increased her bone mineral density back to normal levels in her hips and
osteopenia level in her spine, without the use of medications.
It’s not about muscling through pain to achieve a goal, but about smart movement of your body
to become stronger and kinder to yourself.
