Join Jyoti for a workshop to Get-Back-to-Basics this Winter

The offerings of a yoga practice are life changing. This January you will have an opportunity to deepen your own understanding  and learn from a variety practices taught by Jyoti, teacher at Yoga NW and lover of yoga as a way of life, for a three week foundations class.  Whether you are brand new to yoga or a seasoned yogi, the foundational elements can be visited and revisited for a lifetime. We are constantly changing, growing and evolving as students and there is always something new to discover through our practice.  Taught in a workshop style format, we will investigate the many facets that accompany a yoga practice such as:

-The origins of yoga and its relevancy in todays world.
-Simple breathing techniques and why breathing is a huge part of a yoga practice.
-Exploration of foundational postures found in a typical yoga class. I call these "home base" postures.
-How to build a solid Sun Salutation series (commonly found in most classes) that works for you and your body (including modifications)
-Standing and balancing postures. 
-Forward bends and backbends
-Corpse pose and active rest
-Poses will be broken down to better understand their relevancy and alignment. 
-Variety of off-the-mat yogic practices I have learned from my two decades of studying, practicing and teaching. Storytelling, specific practices for Winter, how to align ourselves with nature to live an integrated life, and so much more.

There will be plenty of time to ask questions, find clarification of poses and surround yourself with a likewise community of yogis. This workshop is ideal for both students new to the practice as well as seasoned practitioners. Everyone is welcome. Wear loose, layered clothing.

Cost: $65 for three week series
A 10% discount will be offered on class packages upon conclusion of the workshop.
